Guidelines for follow-up
- Recommend follow-up by phone or in person in one week depending upon the severity of the condition and every 2 weeks thereafter until remission
- Suicidal patients will need closer follow-up
- Once remission is achieved gradually decrease the frequency of follow-up to a minimum of every 3 months during the first year
- Consider annual follow-up once stable
